CITY OF BELLFLOWER: City Launches "Buy Bellflower" Digital Gift Card Program To Assist Merchants During Pandemic Distress

City of Bellflower issued the following announcement on Dec 30.

A new Bellflower digital gift card program that will benefit both the local businesses that have been hard-hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and customers who have been hurt by the economic fallout has now launched. The website www.buybellflower.com is a new one-stop-shop for purchasing digital gift cards from participation Bellflower merchants. These e-gifts can be purchased now and redeemed at a later date, which will keep holiday shopping simple and safe. Digital gift cards offered now range from restaurants to retail goods to personal services.

"In the past several years, the city has heavily invested into our business community," said Mayor Juan Garza. "Buy Bellflower is a great campaign to benefit the merchants for the long haul and help strengthen their customer base. This is a direct way the City can provide support for local businesses and keep citizens safe during this crisis."

The City of Bellflower selected Giftbar, LLC, as a partner in the gift card program. Giftbar, which reduced its fees while working with the City, operates a similar gift card programs with other cities.

"This is a great way for merchants to immediately generate revenue and regionally expand their customer base during unprecedented time," added Jim DellaLonga, Director of Economic Development.

The new program has been discounted by the city to encourage local spending during this holiday season. For a limited time, purchasers will receive bonus dollars for each gift card purchased i.e. 25% discount on purchases of $100+ and 20% discount on purchases of $25 - $99, and Bellflower merchants can register for FREE at www.buybellflower.com.
